The following message is being sent on behalf of SCDSB:
The SCDSB continues to collaborate with Child Care partners in following Public Health and Ministry of Education guidelines in providing child care programs in schools.
According to local health guidelines, summer licensed school-age programs will allow for children from other schools while adhering to the following requirements:
- Parents/guardians register for programs in advance and are informed of the screening requirement and that children from other schools (and boards) may be combined
- The groups of assigned children/staff remain the same for the duration of the program
Child Care Operators have assessed demand and viability of these programs and have determined that a school-age program may be offered at your school over the summer break (July 2 - September 3, 2021). Please note that Fred C. Cook programming will operate July 12 - September 3, 2021.)
Please connect with your before and after school program and school educators to ensure this information is shared and that space and materials are available for the child care program. Please refer to the Child Care Facilities and Services Handbook (attached), a guide to creating effective partnership, to assist with the facilitation of working together.
